Mineral water springs (containing more than 1g/l of dissolved mineral solids or more than 1g/l unbound CO2) are found in the northeastern part of Slovenia. A high frequency of natural or partially preserved springs is found only in the central part of Cčavnica and a part of the Kapelske gorice hills.

By the Ledava river, near the hamlet of Nuskova, is the Nuskova Slatina spring. The spring is capped, and people from both nearby and farther off use the spring every day.Next to the spring is a well-arranged rest stop for walkers and bicyclists under a thatched roof.
