Will the park set additional conditions for the building of residential and commercial buildings?

Procedures for obtaining the necessary construction permits will remain unchanged.
Even after the establishment of the park, the municipalities will entirely retain the competency for spatial planning. In accordance with the Law on Preservation of the Natural Environment, the environmental protection service (RS Institute of Environmental Protection and the RS Agency for the Environment) will work together as one of the partners on planning and zoning. And it will do this throughout the entire territory of Slovenia (and therefore also in the park): with environmental protection guidelines in which conditions are determined which must be taken under consideration in the preparation of documentation; and with environmental protection approvals in the phase of acquiring permits. The Goričko Nature Park will not issue approvals. All procedures for spatial planning and acquiring permits will therefore be conducted the same as they are outside the park, in accordance with zoning and construction laws which were passed recently. The park can be of help mainly in searching for funding and can also act as an advisor in the renovation of important buildings and cultural heritage.
