North of Hodoą on the Dolenski potok stream is a man-made reservoir in the vicinity of which various marsh habitat types have appeared (wet surface, silty substrate, tall reeds, bog). Rare plant species thrive here such as: Veronica scutelata, Sagina apetala, Ranunculus sceleratus, Peplis portula, Ludwigia palustris, Iris sibirica, Eriophorum latifolium and Alisma lanceolata. The lake is an important habitat for amphibians and dragonflies. Some 20 species of dragonflies have been identified, including the endangered Red-eyed damselfly Erythromma najas, the Norfolk Hawker Anaciaeschna isosceles, Epitheca bimaculata and the Downy emerald Cordulia aenea. The endangered Marsh cricket Pteronemobius heydenii has also been observed.
