Will logging be permitted in the Goričko Nature Park?

The methods of forest management will remain unchanged.
Supervision of logging and planning of seeding is performed by the RS Institute of Agriculture and Forestry, Murska Sobota branch, which will not be changed by the establishment of the park. Forest management plans are made every ten years and include areas for logging and prescribed logging methods, forest management and renewal. In cooperation with the Institute of Forestry, the Goričko Nature park will direct the use of new, spontaneous forest growths and management of non-forested areas within the forests. With the goal of maintaining the equilibrium of the cultural landscape, the maintenance of meadows and fields within the forests is an urgent necessity as a measure for reducing the pressure from herbivorous game which cause damage to farmers' fields in other places.
