Between Dobrovnik and Bukovnica is a man-made permanent retention reservoir on the Bukovnica stream. A chestnut-beech forest grows in the surroundings.
Among the endangered plants which thrive in the lake are the Water poppy Hydrocharis morsus-ranae and the Water chestnut Trapa natans. The lake is an important breeding habitat for amphibians.
