The Ledava reservoir lies between the villages of Kraąči and Pertoča. On the north side and partially on the east and south sides of the reservoir are large stands of the willow Salicion albae, there are small stands of reeds in the shallows by the edge, by the inflow there are developed sediment beds with groupings from the Nano–Cyperion family, with some rare and endangered species: Lindernia dubia, Lindernia procumbens, Limosella aquatica, Elatine triandra.

The lake is an important ornithological locality, a nesting site for e.g. the little bittern Ixobrychus minutus and all of our three types of warblers, during migrations there are some 22 types of terns. In the flooded area to the north of the permanent lake surface are various habitats types of extensive meadows with varying humidity conditions and a small pool and a pond which add to the rich array of habitats.
