MARIBOR DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (MRA) is a non-profit professional development institution serving the Podravje (Maribor) region as a regional development agency. For more than 14 years is acting as organizer and co-ordinator of the regional strategy for economic development with the following priority fields of activities:

• Elaborating and implementing the Regional Development Programme of Podravje region,
• Promoting a regional approach to tackling the problems of Podravje region,
• Attracting new industrial and commercial development into the region,
• Encouraging the development of good sites and premises ready for industrial and commercial use and promoting these facilities,
• Promoting sustainable, tourism and rural development,
• Promoting the priority development projects of the Podravje region,
• Co-ordinating Local Employment Pact
• Acting as a member of the Enterprise Europe Network,
• Co-ordinating and providing business advices to growing SMEs,
• Co-ordinating bilateral Slovenian - Austrian development network EU-REGIA (co-ordination office for NE Slovenia)
• Acting as a co-ordinator of territorial co-operation projects (cross-border co-operation with Austria and Croatia) as well as interregional and trans-national co-operation projects,
• Working in close co-operation with Chamber of Commerce and Industry, national and regional chambers of crafts, national chamber of agriculture and forestry, National institute for Nature Conservation, Employment service of Slovenia, the municipalities and other bodies concerned with the future of the region.
